Where it all began…
My journey began as a volunteer with a homeless charity, where I met with domestic violence, alcoholism, addiction, broken relationships and homelessness.
With little training, I learned as I went along, building relationships, networking & reading books. It was a roller-coaster ride of triumphs and failure, and I knew I could do more!
That’s when I signed up for a counselling course and a new world opened up before me. Over time, I went from being a problem-solver to an active listener.
Now, in the final year of a Level 4 in Therapeutic Counselling my style is person-centred.

Integrative counselling

There are various types of counselling such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Psychoanalysis and Person-Centred Therapy to name just a few. These are called ‘modalities’.
Rather than being restricted to any particular type of counselling, integrative counsellors will use the modality they believe will work best with their client. For example we find that CBT works well for OCD, whilst Person-Centred Therapy is better for those suffering with anxiety.
If you want to know just ask.
In-Person / Online
Whilst we prefer in-person therapy, we realise that sometimes it is just too difficult to manage. For this reason, we offer in-person and on-line appointments.
Contracting
We will ask you to sign a contract prior to embarking on your counselling. This lays out the expectations for both parties as we journey together through our sessions.
Distinctly Christian
We believe that a person is made up of body, soul and spirit. Our counselling reflects this. We will only bring prayer or the Bible into the sessions if requested to do so by you.
